The team behind ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: An Ecologically Smart Innovation for Marine Safety and Sustainable Communication paid a courtesy visit to ASU President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin to share their recent success at the CIPTA Awards 2025 held in Brunei Darussalam.
Composed of ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐จ, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ง ๐. ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ง๐๐จ, and ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐๐ณ, the team brought home the ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ณ๐ ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐ง๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ. On top of that, their project also earned a ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ, a proud recognition of its innovation, quality, and potential impact on marine safety and sustainable communication.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ is a locally developed innovation aimed at improving maritime safety through a smart, eco-friendly early warning system for vessels. It was funded by the Department of Science and Technology โ Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technologies Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD), DOST Region VI, and Aklan State University.
The awarding ceremony was held on July 2, 2025, at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Brunei Darussalam. As part of the award, the team received seven hundred Brunei dollars, a Silver Medal, and Certificates of Achievement.
Dr. Clarin congratulated the team for their hard work and ingenuity, and for bringing pride to the ASU community. The SEAWAVeS project, he said, reflects the universityโs strong commitment to research and innovation that responds to real-world needs.
