ASU Strengthens Tourism and Hospitality Education with UTHP Partnership

Aklan State University has officially partnered with United Tourism and Hospitality Professionals (UTHP) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on March 8, 2025 at the Office of the President, ASU Kalibo.

ASU President Dr. Jeffrey Clarin led the university’s delegation in formalizing this strategic collaboration alongside UTHP Chairman of the Board Dr. Alex Ylagan, President Dr. Mae Borbon, Vice President Dr. Angel Vizconde, and Western Visayas Regional Directors (who are also ASU Faculty members), Dr. Wella Gem Samonte and Dr. Raki Michelle Palomar-Domingo.

This partnership underscores ASU’s dedication to advancing tourism and hospitality education, fostering research-driven solutions, and strengthening community engagement. It also paves the way for the upcoming UTHP General Membership Meeting and International Research Conference with CSR at Ati Village on April 10-12, 2025, reinforcing ASU’s role in promoting sustainable development and inclusive progress in the region.

With this collaboration, Aklan State University continues to solidify its reputation as a hub for innovation and excellence in tourism and hospitality education.
