Aklan State University (ASU) further strengthened its international research partnerships as SUC President III Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin represented the University at the Joint Ceremony for Research Collaboration between Philippine Partner Institutions and the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) on September 28, 2026, at the DA-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) Convention Hall in Diliman, Quezon City.
The ceremony brought together JIRCAS and five Philippine partner institutions, including ASU, to renew and strengthen collaboration in agricultural research, innovation, knowledge sharing, and capacity development.
As part of the program, Dr. Clarin presented ASUโs institutional profile and prospects for collaboration with JIRCAS, highlighting opportunities for joint research and cross-sectoral initiatives. Dr. Yasmin P. Tirol also joined the ASU delegation during the signing and acknowledgment of the joint research agreements.
