Madalag, Aklan – Aklan State University (ASU), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), successfully launched the Empowering Akeanon-Bukidnon Communities Through Science and Technology (EAST) project on February 20, 2025, in Brgy. Ma. Cristina and Brgy. Medina, Madalag, Aklan. With the theme “Bridging Gaps: DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Review and Gender and Society Awareness Campaign,” the initiative aimed to equip aspiring scholars with essential knowledge about the DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Undergraduate Program, ensuring they are well-prepared to take advantage of this opportunity.
Beyond scholarship opportunities, the EAST project also fostered greater awareness of gender-related issues through the Gender and Society Awareness Campaign. By promoting inclusivity and equality, the program empowered local communities with a deeper understanding of gender dynamics.
Through initiatives like the EAST Project, ASU continues to uphold its mission of academic excellence, community engagement, and social transformation, ensuring that quality education and awareness campaigns reach even the most remote areas of Aklan.
