FINANCE UNIT
The Finance Unit (FU) serves as the primary organizational structure responsible for managing the financial resources, planning, and overall fiscal health of the university. This unit oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial policies and procedures. It ensures that resources are efficiently allocated, controlled, and utilized to support the institution’s strategic goals and objectives.
The Finance Unit is composed of two key offices that specialize in distinct aspects of financial operations:
The Accounting Office is responsible for the management of financial records, financial reporting, audits, and compliance with legal and institutional financial standards. It ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, processes payments, manages payroll, and maintains proper documentation for all financial transactions. The office plays a key role in providing financial data for informed decision-making and ensuring the integrity of financial operations.
The Accounting Office operates under the direct supervision of the Chief Finance Department and reports to the same. It implements financial policies and procedures in accordance with the ASU Financial Management Manual and related guidelines. Its functions include managing funds, promoting fiscal discipline, and safeguarding the financial integrity of the institution.
The Budget Office is responsible for the preparation, allocation, and monitoring of the institutional budget. It analyzes revenue and expenditure forecasts, provides recommendations for budget adjustments, and ensures that resources are distributed effectively in line with institutional priorities. The office supports strategic financial planning by ensuring compliance with budgeting policies and promoting long-term financial sustainability.
The Budget Office operates under the direct supervision of the Chief Finance Department and reports to the same. It adheres to policies outlined in the ASU Budget Management Manual and other financial guidelines.
Each office within the Finance Unit the Accounting Office and the Budget Office plays a crucial role in ensuring that financial operations are efficient, transparent, and aligned with the institution’s goals. Both offices report directly to the Chief of the Finance Department, who provides overall leadership, oversight, and direction in the implementation of financial policies and strategies.
