Dr. Arangote congratulated ASU student athlete winners for their victory in the Regional SCUAA Sportsfest and Conference 2023 Region VI last September 11-15, 2023 held at CMSU Talisay, Negros Occidental. The student athletes made a courtesy visit to the Office of the President on September 25, 2023 together with the University Coordinator for Sports, Dr. Warlen Alejandria and their respective coaches.
ASU “Anwangs” vied against 13 different State Universities and Colleges (SUC) in Region 6 in various sports events. The student athletes and brought home 5 gold, 6 silver, and 10 bronze medals in the recently concluded RSCUAA 2023.
Nine ASUians will represent Region 6 this October 1-6, 2023 in the upcoming 2023 SCUAA national games which comprises of the Table Tennis (Women) Team, 1 Chess (Men), 2 Chess (Women), 1 Athletics (Men) -Shotput, and 1 Athletics (Women) – Javelin Throw.
Dr. Arangote added that on top of their achievement in the field of Sports, the students should always prioritize first their academics.
