Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Conducts Three-Day Benchmarking Activity at Aklan State

To foster professional exchange and strengthen academic and industry partnerships, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) conducted a three-day benchmarking activity at Aklan State University (ASU) from July 1 to 3, 2025.

The initiative sought to identify ASU’s best practices in instruction, research, extension, and other institutional functions. It also aimed to cultivate cultural and professional exchanges between CBSUA and ASU, while opening doors for future collaborations between the two universities and their partner industries.

Identify exemplary practices in ASU’s instruction, research, and extension services.
Foster meaningful engagements and cultural exchange between CBSUA and ASU counterparts.
Establish sustainable academic and industry linkages for future joint undertakings.

🏫 Highlights of the Activity
Courtesy Call: CBSUA delegates were warmly welcomed by ASU President and university officials during a formal courtesy call at the Banga Campus.
Campus Tours: Delegates visited key academic units, laboratories, and facilities across ASU’s three campuses:

Banga/Main Campus:
College of Teacher Education
Office of Student Affairs and Services
University Library
Bachelor of Elementary and Secondary Education programs

New Washington Campus:
College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences
College of Hospitality and Rural Resource Management
Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology program

Ibajay Campus:
College of Teacher Education
Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program
Industry Visits: Benchmarking included exploratory visits with local industry partners aligned with CBSUA-Pasacao’s five priority programs: BEEd, BSEd, BSES, BSMB, and BSTM.

Curriculum Dialogues: College deans and program chairs from both institutions held collaborative discussions on curriculum development, instruction innovation, research policies, and faculty development.

Cultural Exploration: Delegates also engaged in activities that showcased Aklan’s cultural heritage and academic-industry landscape.
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 CBSUA Delegation

The delegation was led by Dr. Kristine May C. Regaspi, Campus Administrator, and comprised 15 participants including program chairs, academic and administrative staff, and service personnel. Their collective expertise supported targeted discussions across instruction, research, extension, library services, and student affairs.
