ASU-TSO Conducts Faculty Development Training

The Aklan State University Training Services Office conducted a 3-day training on August 2-4, 2024 at the ASU Review Center, Banga, Aklan. The training, “Faculty Development for the Future: Building Skills for Engaged Learning”, is strategically designed to equip ASU faculty with future-oriented skills and perspectives. It aims to empower university faculty members, including new and experienced personnel, by providing a comprehensive orientation to the institution’s diverse resources, services, and initiatives. Importantly, the program also fosters a “Futures Thinking” component.
The three-day training was attended by participants from ASU’s five campuses. Three Resource Speakers from outside the institution enriched the said event: Atty. Fr. Jude Isidro A. Rebaldo, who talked about Magna Carta & Ethics for Teacher and Time Management & Work-life balance; Dr. Lorey F. Tanaleon and Dr. Garry C. Cachuela of West Visayas State University discussed Pedagogical skillson Active learning strategies, Inclusive teaching practices, Technology in Education, Online and hybrid teaching best practices, Digital content creation and curation. Furthermore, Prof. Rema B. Lauron,
Director of Production, gave a lecture on ASU RDE Continuum Landscape in the area of Production; Dr. Jolitte A. Villaruz
Director of IPMO, discussed Intellectual Property Management Processes; and Dr. Carmenchita M. Tumaca, Center Head, RCCC tackled Regional Center for Climate Change Plans.
VP for Administration, Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, then gave her Closing Remarks which concluded the said event.
