HAPPENING NOW: Future and Strategic Thinking for ASU

University and Campus officials and officers gathered at the ASU-Banga Review Center today, August 20, 2024 to attend the Training on Future and Strategic Thinking for Aklan State University.
The training, organized by the Training Services Unit, is designed to empower academic and administrative staff with the tools and techniques necessary to engage in effective future thinking and enhanced strategic thinking. Moreover, develop future’s thinking skills to anticipate emerging trends and envision potential scenarios, as well as enhance strategic thinking capabilities to align institutional priorities, administrative objective and action plans.
The program, hosted by Dr. Christopher D. Tolores was officially opened by Acting VP for Administration, Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, This was then followed by a message from University President, Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin.
“This is not just about predicting the future; it’s about shaping it. The future of higher education is not predetermined. It is up to us to create it. This training is your first step on that journey. Let us embrace the past, present, and the future, together”, Dr. Clarin in his speech as he addresses the university and campus officials.
This was then followed by the Acting Director for Training Services Unit, Dr. Ava Mae S. Magallanes, who introduced the Resource Speaker.
Mr. Arthur E. Jizmundo, Planning Officer III and the Resource Speaker, proceeded with his talk on, “Applying Strategic Foresight for Higher Education Transformation”, which provided the audience insights with regards to strategic foresight and futures thinking which offered a good opportunity and pave the way for the review of the institution’s goals, priorities, and how well the administrative and academic departments are aligned.
