The Aklan State University Project SEDA team conducted a courtesy meeting with the Department of Education (DepEd) Balete District on October 9, 2026, in Balete, Aklan, to finalize the schedule of activities for Project SEDA Component 3 โ Human Resource Development.
The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Learning Enhancement Sessions for Grade 12 Senior High School Students from seven participating schools in the district. The initiative aims to strengthen studentsโ academic readiness and provide guidance on DOST-SEI scholarship opportunities through orientations and free review sessions in Science, Mathematics, English, and Abstract Reasoning.
Present during the meeting were Dr. Michael T. Ibisate, Project SEDA Program Leader and ASU Extension and Community Services Director; Dr. John R. Orbista, Component 3 Leader and Chair of the ASU College of Teacher Education Extension and Community Services; Joven M. Resusta, project team member; Dr. Guia Panganonong, OIC of the Office of the Public Schools District Supervisor of Balete; and Mrs. Ma. Rowena Lachica-Birol.
Through this collaboration, ASU and DepEd Balete District aim to expand access to educational opportunities and help prepare students for the DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination, opening pathways toward higher education and future careers in science and technology.
