𝐀𝐒𝐔 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐎

Aklan State University joined the 2026 National Peace Consciousness Month activities in Barangays Lilo-an and Osman, Malinao, on September 10, 2026. anchored on the theme “Kapayapaan, Pagtibayin, Kaunlaran Paigtingin.”

The activity opened with a Holy Mass for Peace at Guardian Angel Chapel, followed by wreath laying and candle lighting at the marker commemorating the soldiers who fell on May 4, 1987.

Participants then proceeded to the Osman Community-Based Agri-Ecotourism and Integrated Farm Facility, where ASU and partner organizations joined the planting of mulberry and coconut trees—linking peace efforts with environmental care and sustainable livelihoods.

The formal program at the Osman New Evacuation Building featured the launch of four development targets:
🔵 Agri-Ecotourism & Integrated Farm Development
🟡 Education, Skills & Capability Building
🔴 Socio-Economic Growth & Entrepreneurship
🟢 Security, Public Safety & Environmental Protection

Messages of support were delivered by representatives from various participating agencies and organizations, including OPAPRU, Aklan State University through Extension and Community Services (ECS) and Project BITUON, Camp Jizmundo, OPA, PENRO, PhilFIDA, PhilHealth, PCA, DOST, OPVet, IBON, and MPC.

ASU was represented by Joven M. Resusta, BITUON Project Leader; Dr. Michael T. Ibisate, Director of the ASU Extension and Community Services; Prof. Jerby J. Paderes, ASU-Ibajay Campus Director; and Mr. Edgar M. Prado, ECS Chair, ASU-Ibajay.

The activity brought together government agencies, security forces, cooperatives, and community partners in advancing peace, development, and resilient communities.
