Aklan State University officially commenced the Seminar on Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability in Public Service (ITAPS) on June 16, 2026, at the ASU Conference Hall, Banga, Aklan.
The first day of the three-day seminar gathered participants from ASU-Makato, ASU-Ibajay, and ASU-New Washington, while personnel from ASU-Banga and ASU-Kalibo are scheduled to participate during the second and third days of the activity.
The opening program featured welcome remarks from Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, Vice President for Administration and Finance, followed by learning sessions facilitated by resource persons from the Office of the OmbudsmanโVisayas, Iloilo Area Office.
During the first day, Mr. Donald U. Badoy discussed the nature, causes, and effects of corruption. Ms. Maria Luvilla H. Gaurana tackled public accountability, norms of conduct, and SALN compliance. Ms. Evangeline G. Nuรฑal presented key anti-corruption laws and notable corruption cases, while Ms. Abigail R. Tan Yau led participants in an integrity self-assessment and the development of personal integrity plans.
The day’s activities concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Eleanor F. Rosales, who emphasized the importance of upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in the discharge of public duties and in advancing the University’s commitment to good governance.
The three-day seminar aims to strengthen ethical leadership and foster a culture of integrity and excellence in public service among ASU personnel.
