Aklan State University (ASU) has secured a โฑ1,000,000 grant under the Young Farmers Challenge โ Business Development Assistance (YFC-BDA) Program of the Department of Agriculture for the implementation of Project ALIMA (Accelerating Local Innovation and Market Advancement of Aklanon Young Agripreneurs through Structured Business Incubation).
The grant was awarded at the Iloilo Convention Center, marking another milestone in ASUโs efforts to strengthen youth engagement in agriculture and agribusiness.
Through Project ALIMA, the University will enhance its Food Innovation and Processing Laboratory and ENTREPLAB Technology Business Incubator with additional equipment to support product development and food processing. These facilities will provide students and community beneficiaries with shared resources to develop market-ready agricultural products.
The project will be implemented through the Universityโs Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO), in collaboration with key partners, to expand opportunities for young Aklanons in agribusiness.
ASU continues to advance initiatives that promote innovation and enterprise development in agriculture, empowering the next generation of agripreneurs in the province.
