𝙄𝙉 𝙋𝙃𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙎 | 𝘈𝘚𝘜-𝘊𝘈𝘚 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘉𝘳𝘨𝘺. 𝘍𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘰, 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘓𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴

In a significant step towards community empowerment and sustainable development, the Aklan State University-College of Arts and Sciences (ASU-CAS) formalized its partnership with Barangay Feliciano, Balete, Aklan through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held on August 1, 2025, at the Office of the University President in Banga, Aklan.

The MOA was signed by SUC President III, Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, representing ASU, and Hon. Agnes D. Recidoro, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Feliciano. The agreement signals the launch of the extension program titled 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙤𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙁𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙤 – 𝙍𝙄𝙎𝙀 𝙐𝙋 𝙁𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙤.”

The initiative will roll out four community-based projects designed to address key developmental areas:

Project 1: Financial Literacy for Youth Leaders – Led by Mr. Fervin D. Samortin under the BS in Applied Mathematics program, this project aims to equip young leaders with essential budgeting and fund management skills.

Project 2: Sustainable Environmental Conservation Practices– Spearheaded by the BS Biology program, this initiative is headed by Dr. Jolisa H. Ang and represented during the ceremony by project member Dr. Hine Marae P. Arboleda.

Project 3: Enhancing Barangay Officials’ Capacity in Online Visual Communication and Community-Based Information Platforms for Disaster Risk Reduction – Led by Prof. Juvy M. Casimero of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication program, this project focuses on improving digital communication skills among barangay leaders.

Project 4: Words and Hearts – Supporting Language and Socio-Emotional Growth in the Community – Facilitated by the BA in English Language Studies (BAELS) program with Dr. Ava Mae S. Magallanes as project leader, this initiative addresses language development and emotional well-being.

Also present during the signing were Dr. Donna R. Lariosa, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and members of the Barangay Council of Feliciano, who stood as official witnesses to the agreement.
