Aklan State University (ASU) took an important step toward the future as it presented its Comprehensive Strategic Plan for 2025–2034 to stakeholders of ASU – Banga on July 25, at the ASU Amphitheater.
The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders—including university officials, faculty and staff, students, local government leaders, and representatives from various government agencies across Aklan. Their presence reflected a strong sense of community and shared purpose in building ASU’s path forward.
The program opened with Dr. Eleanor F. Rosales delivering the welcome remarks on behalf of ASU President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, highlighting the university’s continued commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Ms. Junaly M. Relado, Planning Officer II, followed with the presentation of the newly approved Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives, as ratified by the Board of Regents. Mr. Arthur E. Jizmundo, Planning Officer III, then introduced the updated ASU Organizational Structure, which is designed to support more efficient governance and service delivery.
The heart of the program was the unveiling of the Strategic Roadmap and Key Milestones by Dr. Michael T. Ibisate, Director for Planning and Development. He outlined the university’s strategic direction over the next 10 years, focusing on academic excellence, research and innovation, infrastructure development, and community involvement.
An open forum, moderated by Mr. Jizmundo, allowed stakeholders from various sectors to voice their insights, ask questions, and offer feedback on the proposed plan. This open dialogue underscored ASU’s commitment to transparency and shared leadership.
Mr. Edilberto L. Solidum, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration, closed the program with words of appreciation and a call for continued cooperation and engagement from all sectors.
This 10-year strategic plan is more than just a document—it is a roadmap toward realizing ASU’s vision of becoming “The Innovative University for Sustainable Futures.” It sets the direction for the university to grow, adapt, and lead in creating meaningful, long-term impact not only in Aklan, but across the region and beyond.
