ASU Wins Big at โPelikulAgraryoโ 2025 Regional Film Festival
Aklan State University (ASU) stood out at this yearโs Pelikularyo 2025 Regional Film Festivalโa competition exclusively for universities with communication-related programs. ASU didnโt just participateโthey brought home several major awards and proudly represented the regionโs creative talent.
Two student teams from ASU wowed the judges with their storytelling and production skills: Anwang Productions and Kabaean Productions.

Kabaean Productionsโ film TITULO won Best Film, while KAMMANA Kids earned 3rd Best Film. Director Noreen Longares also took home the Best Director award.
Both teams were nominated in several key categories:
– Best Screenplay
– Best Editing
– Best Cinematography
– Best Actress
In total ASU also received the following honors:
– Best ARB Film
– Best Director
– 3rd Best ARBO Film
Adding to the celebration, ASU was chosen as the official entry of DAR Region to the national level, a proud moment that highlights the universityโs growing reputation in student filmmaking.
Also present during the awarding ceremony were Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, SUC President III; Dr. Donna R. Lariosa, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; and Mr. Walter P. Toriano, Production Consultant and Adviserโwhose presence underscored the universityโs full support for its young creatives.
