Aklan State University (ASU) has been recognized during the prestigious 2024 Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICON) Awards. The event took place today, December 16, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay, Metro Manila. The university was lauded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for its remarkable achievement of being included in the World University Rankings for Innovation, where it secured the 299th spot among top universities worldwide. On behalf of Aklan State University, the University President, Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, personally received the award. These awards celebrate the integration of global perspectives and sustainable practices in Philippine education, positioning the country as a hub for international academic excellence. The event underscored the pivotal role of education in nation-building, with ASU standing out as a model for how Philippine universities can excel on the world stage.
