A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Aklan State University and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) to mainstream volunteerism in the academe. The MOU signing happened on October 23, 2024, at the Office of the President, Banga, Aklan.
The purpose of this MOU is to institutionalize volunteer service through the University’s Extension and Community Services Unit, aiming to integrate volunteerism across all departments and units. It will also include monitoring and evaluating the initiatives related to volunteerism within the University.
Additionally, PNVSCA will provide technical assistance for volunteerism-related initiatives to enhance the capacity of the Aklan State University Volunteer Service Corps.
ASU President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Eleanor F. Rosales signed the MOU on behalf of ASU.
On behalf of PNVSCA, the MOU was signed by Executive Director Mr. Donald James D. Gawe and Senior Volunteer Service Officer Ms. Maribel F. Larracochea.
