CBM Celebrates 16th Foundation Anniversary

The strength, unity, and resilience of the College of Business and Management (CBM) has been fortified by time and the dedication of its administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and students.
16 years from its foundation, CBM rises as one of the institutions with the largest population in this university. Anchored on the theme: “SMS-CBM@16: Strengthening CBM Panthers’ Competence through Unity and Openness”, the 5-day event starting today, September 9 until 13, 2024, will showcase an array of events organized by different student organizations within the unit.
As a prelude to the celebration, a parade lead by the ASU-ROTC bearing the colors and the ASU Drum and Lyre Corps was conducted with the student from different programs wearing color coordinated shirts and props.
During the opening program at the Amphiteater, CBM Dean, Dr. Napoleon B. Marasigan delivered an Opening Remarks, followed by a message from Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, VP for Administration.
A festive and entertaining number was delivered by CBM’s faculty and resident balladeer, Dr. Wilfredo J. Nicolas. Moreover, selected CBM students also gave an energetic dance number to uplift the crowd’s energy.
Moreover, BSBA Alumnus Batch 2012, Mr. Rodel Ambrocio was invited to be the Resource Speaker for the event. He talked about, “Continuous Learning: The Path to Strengthening Competence”, which enriched the students and faculty in the audience.
The exhibit and booths of the different student organizations under the CBM Unit was officially opened through a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony led by Dr. Relingo and former CBM Dean, Prof. Arlette U. Portaje.
Meanwhile, BS Entrep Alumni, Mr. Miles Bryan B. Iguis, owner of Tazza Café, and Ms. Julina T. Alonsagay, owner of Juan Café, Pandan gave their Inspirational Messages to the students of CBM and shared how they came to be business owners at such a young age.
The program was then concluded with a Closing Remarks from CBM Business Department Char, Dr. Mark V. Tapar.
The event was also attended by former CBM Deans, Dr. Benedict B. Bombaes, Mr. Arthur E. Jizmundo, and Prof. Arlette U. Portaje.
