ASU presents Proposed 2024 Budget to stakeholders

Aklan State University presented its proposed budget for FY 2024 to stakeholders on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the ASU Review Center.

For Fiscal Year 2024, ASU has a proposed budget of Php1, 231, 079, 000.

The 1.231 Billion budget is broken down into:

Tier 1

Personnel Services: 439.787 M

MOOE: 140.325 M

Total: 580.112 M

Tier 2: (for additional activities)

PS: 109.013 M

MOOE: 272.454 M

CO: 269.500 M

Total: 650.967 M

About 75 stakeholders from the five campuses, including University officials, parents, students, government agencies, and private individuals representing various organizations attended the consultation and joined in the forum.

Dr. Emily M. Arangote, SUC President III, expressed her gratitude to the stakeholders for their presence. Dr. Arangote said that budget setting and budget utilization is at the core of any organization, moreso for government agencies.

“That is why it is important for the stakeholders to be apprised of the budget of the SUC, particularly on how much the budget is, and how and where the budget will be used,” she said.

Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, University Planning Director presented the accomplishments for 2022, as well as the targets for each key indicator for 2023 and 2024.

Ms. Rowena Repedro, Budget Officer III, presented the budget to the stakeholders. She also answered queries from the participants during the Open Forum, especially on the allocations of the budget.

Helping her answer the questions were Chief Administrative Officer Edilberto Solidum and Planning Officer III Mr. Arthur Jizmundo.

Present during the discussion were VP for Administration Dr. Cecile O. Legaspi and Dr. Arlene B. Dela Cruz, VP for Academic Affairs. They were joined by the Campus Directors of the five campuses and key university personnel.
