Madalag, Aklan<\/strong> – Aklan State University (ASU), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), successfully launched the Empowering Akeanon-Bukidnon Communities Through Science and Technology (EAST) project on February 20, 2025, in Brgy. Ma. Cristina and Brgy. Medina, Madalag, Aklan. With the theme \u201cBridging Gaps: DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Review and Gender and Society Awareness Campaign,\u201d the initiative aimed to equip aspiring scholars with essential knowledge about the DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Undergraduate Program, ensuring they are well-prepared to take advantage of this opportunity.<\/div>\n

Beyond scholarship opportunities, the EAST project also fostered greater awareness of gender-related issues through the Gender and Society Awareness Campaign. By promoting inclusivity and equality, the program empowered local communities with a deeper understanding of gender dynamics.<\/div>\n
