Another feather is added to the glorious hat of Aklan State University after having been selected as one of the winners of the 1st Internationalization Awards organized by the UP Open University (UPOU) in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The award recognizes institutions of higher learning who were able to implement internationalization initiatives that are innovative, creative, and sustainable.
Under the helm of Dr. Emily M. Arangote, SUC President III, ASU has started to strengthen its Internationalization programs as it envisions itself as a leading university in the Asia-Pacific region.
ASU’s entry zoomed in on the Internationalization strategies before and even during the pandemic and highlighted the trimaran project, a collaboration of ASU with partner agencies here and abroad, as its important contribution to the country and the world.
This is another achievement of Dr. Arangote in less than a year since assuming office as President.
Dr. Arangote expressed delight and gratitude to UPOU and CHED for being considered as a winner in the first Philippine Higher Education Internationalization Awards.
“Internationalization is at the forefront of ASU’s strategic goals as we aim to bring the university to be at par with global standards through partnerships with institutions abroad and through meaningful programs. Your recognition of our work serves as further motivation for the ASU community, ” she said.
Dr. Dr. Arangote also said that Aklan State University will continue to expand its initiatives for excellence in higher education.
“…let us all soar high internationally,” she said further.
The Internationalization program of the university is seeing massive leverage under Dr. Manuel Malonisio as International Affairs Director.
The awarding ceremony will be held on May 20 2021 during the CHED Anniversary Celebration
