University Research Council 3rd Quarter Meeting

The Research and Development Services conducted its 3rd Quarter Meeting last November 2, 2021 via Zoom Videoconferencing. This meeting was conducted in preparation for the upcoming 9th Research and Development Symposium and Year-End R&D In-house Review. The University Research Council evaluated the research proposals that were endorsed for the Year-End R&D In-house Review.

Training-workshop on Writing Scientific Articles for Publication

This training-workshop on Writing Scientific Articles for Publication was organized by the Research and Development Services Unit in Partnership with the Training Services Unit held last September 28 & 30 and October 7, 2021 via Zoom Videoconferencing. The activity is part of the RDS initiatives of Enhancing Research and Development Capability through conducting series of webinars. 

Dr. Jezie A. Acorda, Professor 12 and Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine of the UP Los Baños, served as the resource speaker for the training workshop. A total of 48 faculty researchers and research staff participated in the virtual training. This activity aimed to equip and update the faculty researchers on the recent trends in writing scientific articles for refereed/peer reviewed publications. A critiquing was conducted after the workshop to further refine and enhance faculty research paper outputs.

Year-End R&D In house Review 2021

The R&D In-house Review is a bi-annual activity of the University as part of its commitment to continuously produce quality researches. It helps to keep the university abreast with recent development in instruction, research, extension and production. During this activity, the proposed researches of ASU Faculty were evaluated by the panel of evaluators. The Year-End R&D In-house Review was held last November 25-26, 2021 via Zoom Videoconferencing. A total of 28 proposed researches were evaluated based on Creativity, Originality & Quality of Work and Significance of the Study.

9th Research and Development Symposium

The Research and Development Symposium is a bi-annual activity of the University as part of its commitment to continuously produce quality researches. It helps to keep the university abreast with recent development in instruction, research, extension and production. During this activity, faculty researchers from Aklan State University (ASU) and other institutions presented their completed researches which was evaluated by different experts from various agencies. Twenty (20) completed researches from ASU were presented during the 9th Research and Development Symposium held last November 22-23, 2021 via Zoom Videoconferencing.

Year-End R&D Accomplishment Review 2021

The RDS will conduct its Year-End RD Accomplishment/s Review and 2022 R&D Target Setting on December 15, 2021 via Zoom Videoconferencing. This activity will serve as a venue to review the performance of the unit for the current year and how it fared to its objectives and outputs. This will also tackle the measures necessary to be undertaken to ensure successful program implementation for the next year. This will help the RDS Unit to measure its performance and to monitor and evaluate its R&D accomplishment. 

Moreover, this activity will recognize ASU researchers who have made outstanding contributions to the R&D Initiatives of the University such as best paper awardees of the R&D Symposium, external funding grants, publications and patent grants.
