SP Tejada heads DYMT interim decision-making body

In a significant milestone for the DYMT Multimedia-based Community Teleradio, the Stakeholders Meeting saw the creation of Community Media Council, on Wednesday, October 5, 2023, at the ASU Review Center.

The interim Community Media Council, the decision-making body of DYMT, is headed by Hon. Jay Tejada and Dr. Carmenchita Tumaca as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, respectively.

The members representing the different sectors are as follows:

James Ogatis (DA 6)

Melky Arboleda (DepEd)

Edgar Prado (ASU)

PCpt. Benny Jones Mendoza (PNP)

Mary Ann Ramos (ATI)

Myrnalyn Suante (DENR)

Leo Jamorin (Civil Service Commission)

Dr. Sam Teodosio (MHO Banga)

Pastor Rehum (Religious Sector)

Rev. Fr. Msgr. Frederick Malacas ((Religious Sector))

Rosie Villar Rentillo (Vendors Association)

In his message, Hon. Tejada said leading the interim council is “a blessing, not an additional workload.”

“Our challenge now is how to operationalize and strategize DYMT, and optimizing the platform to effectively reach a wider audience,” Ho. Tejada said.

Key stakeholders, volunteers, and members of the DYMT Multimedia-based Community Teleradio converged to shape the future of the newly-revived and digitalized DYMT.

The creation of the CMC represents a proactive step towards strengthening the bond between the network and its diverse audience. By involving community members, content creators, and local leaders in the decision-making process, DYMT aims to better address the needs and interests of its viewers.

In the past when DYMT was a terrestrial radio station, the CMC also served as the decision-makers of the radio station.

Meanwhile in his opening remarks, Dr. Michael T. Ibisate, ASU-Banga Campus Director, expressed his gratitude to the presence of the representatives from partner agencies and the civic sector.

“We gather not only as stakeholders in this institution but also as partners in a shared vision—a vision where technology, knowledge, and services are seamlessly disseminated, enriching lives and empowering communities,” Dr. Ibisate said.

The revived and digitalized DYMT is funded by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 6. It is headed by Dr. Nenia N. Bohulano, University Extension and Community Services Director, as Station Manager. Prof. Juvy Casimero serves as the project leader.

The multimedia-based radio will feature several segments/programs from ASU units, partner agencies, and the community.
